Sponsored Research Providers
CWIC Equity Solutions Ltd works with some of the investment industry's leading providers of sponsored (often referred to as "paid-for") equity research, which aims to assist companies - typically those listed on major internatinonal stockmarkets - with raising awareness of their investment cases.
While our policy is to limit these relationships to one in the UK, we are happy to work with select platforms in Continental Europe and North America on a retained basis. Our aim is to work with best-in-class providers and on a selective basis. A summary description of our research products is shown below.
Research Report – detailed 20 to 24 page analysis and model
This is the group’s flagship product and is the most comprehensive route to funding and value optimisation. The investment case is evaluated and summarised in detail. In the body of the report we investigate the business’s core concept, its addressable market using external sources and do a rigorous analysis of how the business works and what it comprises. In addition, we make a detailed assessment of the senior leadership, its experience and why it will deliver value to investors.
In addition, we build a standalone dynamic financial model which drives forecasts for income statement, balance sheet and free cash flow in the case of equity based investments. This financial analysis is complemented by a relative valuation and a fair value for the shares based on absolute principles. For fixed income and cryptocurrencies we apply other valuation benchmark techniques.
Research Report – detailed 10 to 12 page investment case overview
For the shorter version of the full report the investment case is evaluated and summarised in detail. In the body of the report we investigate the business’s core concept, its addressable market using external sources and do a rigorous analysis of how the business works and what it comprises. In addition, we make a detailed assessment of the senior leadership, its experience and why it will deliver value to investors. We ask the client company to provide full financial forecasts which are published in the report and form the basis of a relative valuation.
Research Brief – 5 to 6 page investment case update.
Our Research Briefs get straight to the point. They include only summary financials – provided by the client company – and key, eye catching bullets on the front page. The investment case is summarised in 2 to 3 pages. We identify key leadership team members and how they enhance the investment case. The summary financials are used to drive a relative valuation.
Investor Updates – 1 page update with summary financials
Our Investor Update keep investors up to date with the latest developments in the company. They include up to date summary financials and the latest newsflow as well as a reminder of the key points of the investment case and updated relative valuation.
Comprehensive Research Service – Annual retainer
Retained clients benefit from both the full research and frequent updates. The service is a great option for businesses which are on the move and keen to have that constantly reflected in the valuation of their traded asset. All announcements are commented on with the more important announcements benefiting from an inclusive Research Brief.
Investment Analyst Writing & Modelling Services (per day)
For businesses looking to handle complex issues outside published research, CWIC ESL offers its investment analyst services on a daily charge out basis. Key features of this kind of work include report writing and financial modelling. However, once you have the analyst on board the scope is pretty much unlimited.
